This customized spading fork (on the left ) was hand forged to meet the specific requirements of the customer. This particular fork has 4 tines and the handle is metal instead of wood. For most 4-tine spading forks, we forge the entire tool head and socket from a single piece of 5160 spring steel. This method and steel combination gives us a strong tines that are not brittle. They will have some flex, but not much. While we make this standard with a straight wooden handle, we also offer them with customized T or D handles (additional charges may apply).
As a customized, hand forged tool our forks take a lot of time to make. For a less expensive option, we sell forged forks made by Bulldog for around half the cost. These tools are also high quality and very strong, and unless you specifically want one of our hand forged forks, you'll get a great overall value and performance from the Bulldog tools.
