In our household, we plant bulbs the old fashioned way. Samantha or I crawl around on the ground, dig small holes with a trowel or use a dibble and drop each bulb where we want it. Oh, and we mainly plant small bulbs because Samantha loves to see tulips and daffodils popping up early in the season. For those gardeners out there who are more serious with their bulb planting, who plant larger bulbs in volume, or who simply do not want to get down in the dirt when planting new bulbs, this forged bulb planter might be the tool for you.
A simple, functional design with treads to help drive the planting cylinder down and a T handle to twist, you will find yourself able to make hole after hole after hole...and then make more holes.
We do make a Red Pig Garden Tools version of a bulb planter upon request - and generally only if you need a 4" wide hole or something deeper or more custom to your situation does it make sense to have us make you one. We think this one from the Bulldog Tools line is more than adequate for most gardeners and offers a great combination of performance and price. Like all the forged Bulldog brand tools we sell (no we don't make the Bulldog line ourselves, it is an old English brand with operations now mainly in Asia), we think this forged tool fills a need.
